Discover the bold visual language of Jean-Michel Basquiat, whose energetic paintings combine figures, words, symbols, and references to history, culture, and identity. Students will explore how artists can develop their own visual vocabulary to communicate ideas, tell stories, and make their individual voices seen.

Students will learn art terms and new techniques. We will use a variety of media each month, including acrylic, watercolor, oil pastels, chalks and more. Please note that the picture used in this description is from a previous class. Upcoming planned activities may be different than what is shown above. This is to ensure that returning students are presented with new lessons and materials.
